Obituary: Fox, Margaret

October 24, 1949 – January 31, 2026

Margaret Fox (nee Hurley), age 76 of Mono, passed away peacefully at Dufferin Oaks Long Term Care in Shelburne, on January 31, 2026. Marg was born in Hatfield, England, and moved to Canada with her parents and older brother Brian at the age of seven. Marg grew up in Bramalea, and met the love of her life, David Fox of Meaford, in 1970. Their first date was at the old Meaford movie theatre. They were married in 1972, and had three children. After being home with their children, Marg returned to work and enjoyed her roles working with youth within the education system, and was a loving and welcoming presence in the offices of Brampton Christian Academy and St. Marguerite D’Youville Catholic School. David and Marg spent countless summers at Sauble Beach enjoying the Sauble sunsets, as well as her garden. They spent a lot of time in the Owen Sound and Meaford areas visiting David’s family in Meaford, and enjoying activities in and around the area. She will be remembered for her gentleness, kindness, patience, generosity, and sense of humour. If there was an opportunity to help, Marg would have been there to lend a helping hand. She was a Sunday school teacher and worked in the nursery for many years. She loved the Lord and knew Him personally, and is now with her Savior.

The family extends a very big heartfelt gratitude to the staff at Dufferin Oaks. They provided exceptional care to her for over five years. Predeceased by her parents, Jack and Hilda Hurley (nee Joyce). Forever remembered with love by her husband David Fox of 54 years, her children, Megan Newbury (Steve), Kelly Wallace (Brian), and Jordan Fox (Robin), and her eight grandchildren Laci, Caleb, Landon, Jack, Norah, Leo, June, and Edwin. Marg loved, and is lovingly remembered by her brother Brian (Violet) and family, all of David’s family, and many extended family and friends. Honouring her wishes, a private family celebration of life will be held at Lakeview Cemetery, Meaford.
