Meafordites Coping With Increased Restrictions Due to COVID-19 Precautions

ghost town2020 270As everywhere else, over the past two weeks Meaford residents have been adhering to increasingly strict guidelines to practise social distancing and self-isolation. As a result, many local businesses are hurting from being shuttered, and those businesses that have been deemed essential and continue to operate do so with increasing restrictions aimed at keeping residents safe from the spread of COVID-19.

Unable to Pick up Bag Tags Due to Self Isolation? You Can Now Dispose of One Bag With No Tag

trashbags999 270Curbside collection of garbage, blue bin (recycling), and green bin (organics), is continuing as scheduled.

If you have access to bag tags please continue to use them as usual. As of Monday March 30th, 2020 residents who are not able to get bag tags due to self-isolation may dispose of one untagged bag on their regular garbage pickup day.

Charge Laid In Stabbing Incident

opp logo270On March 24, Grey Bruce Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) were dispatched to a domestic dispute at Victoria Street in Meaford. A 44 year old male, with injuries resulting from a knife and a 30 year old, were found inside the residence.
