This fall marks an impressive milestone, the 30th anniversary of the Meaford Scarecrow Invasion. For three decades, our community has filled the town with creativity, colour, and joyful imagination. To honour this special year, organizers are inviting all residents to help make 2026 the most vibrant celebration yet.
The Scarecrow Invasion theme for 2026 is ‘Peace, Love, Happiness’.
Decorate your homes, porches, balconies, fences, and yards with scarecrows inspired by three decades of Scarecrow Invasion fun. Let your imagination run free: retro, colourful, musical, sporty, whimsical, or heartfelt.
This is not a judged competition. It’s simply a chance for residents to participate with the spirit of creating the most imaginative and joyful scarecrow displays. The goal is fun, creativity, and celebrating Meaford together.
Display Dates: September 4 – October 19
“We encourage the whole family to join in—kids, parents, grandparents, neighbours, and friends. Build together, laugh together, and help fill Meaford with the magic that has made this event a beloved tradition for 30 years,” said organizers. “Once your display is up, we ask that you take photos of your creation along with the people involved and then send photos to the Scarecrow Invasion committee to feature your scarecrow(s) on our social media, so residents and visitors can enjoy them and plan their fall strolls around town.”
