Low on Gas in Meaford

Editor,

Last week I drove to the Grey Roots Museum for a lecture by an Anishinaabe storyteller. I learned her oral stories passed on from one generation to another are her ‘copywrites’, belong to her. Also, an old friend also at the Museum showed me his grandfather’s honey exhibit. How proud he was!

Since I’m in Meaford now in my third year I decided to navigate the ‘back roads’ to the museum from the Meaford Library taking 11 then 18. I arrived no problem and felt proud of myself. Going back home I guess my mind was preoccupied and also I was low on gas. I ended up on a ‘back road’ and decided to get gas asap.

Luckily I found a lovely man in his attached garage not doing much. I pulled into his driveway. He said he could siphon gas into my tank enough to get me back to Highway 26 in Meaford. I accepted.
