Registration will open on October 1 for the 2026/2027 season at the Meaford Curling Club.
This 200-member club on Collingwood Street in Meaford is celebrating 150 years of curling and community with a kickoff open house event on October 17, from 4-7 p.m. The club has a new ice making plant which was purchased with the help of a grant from the Ontario Trillium Foundation, so the surfaces should be excellent for play this year. The club has set the aspirational goal of having the best curling ice in Grey-Bruce.
The Meaford Curling Club offers drop-in and league play during daytimes and evenings for members of every level. New this year will be a Sunday afternoon drop-in session beginning at 1:30 p.m. A very successful learn-to-curl program was introduced last season and will be offered again on Friday evenings beginning in October. This seven-week program focuses on ice safety, the delivery of the curling rock from the hack and with a stick, sweeping and curling strategy.
Bonspiel tournaments are offered throughout the season, including a special ‘Un-Deux-Trois’ Bonspiel in December, only open to new players with up to three years of experience, and a FunSpiel, which raised $2,500 for the Meaford Hospital Foundation last March.
