The Grey Bruce County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) took part in the Civic Holiday Weekend Campaign from August 4 to August 7, 2023. The campaign focused on traffic moving over for emergency vehicles and tow trucks, as well as the ‘Big Four’, which include: distracted driving, alcohol/drug – impaired driving, speeding/aggressive driving, and lack of occupant restraint.
The Grey Bruce OPP laid a total of 101 traffic-related charges including:
- 4 motorists charged with impaired driving
- 63 speeding charges
- 3 stunt driving charges
- 4 charges for failing to wear a seatbelt
During the campaign, the Grey Bruce OPP investigated 11 motor vehicle collisions.
