Bruce-Grey Owen Sound Candidates to Face Off in Pre-Election Debate

Voters in Bruce-Grey Owen Sound will have an opportunity to meet their federal election candidates and hear what they have to say on the local issues that matter most during a live, in-person debate taking place at the Durham Community Centre on April 22.

The debate will be moderated and hosted by the South Grey Chamber of Commerce. All residents in the region are invited to attend at the Durham Community Centre on Monday, April 22, from 7 to 9 p.m., with doors opening at 6:30 p.m. for a meet-and-greet with the candidates and their campaign teams. This gives residents and businesses an opportunity to hear directly from the candidates, ask questions, and gain insight into their platforms before heading to the polls.

The debate will cover key local and national issues impacting our region—from rural healthcare and housing affordability to agricultural policy, infrastructure, tariffs and climate resilience. The evening will allow a lively and informative exchange of ideas through structured questions and timed responses.

All registered candidates for the Bruce-Grey Owen Sound riding have been invited to participate and share their policies and platforms ahead of the upcoming election with almost all so far confirming they will attend. The format gives each candidate an equal opportunity to provide insight and clarity on their party’s priorities, leadership style, and vision for the region.

This is an important opportunity for residents of South Grey to engage directly with the candidates and understand their positions on the issues that matter most to our community,” said Karen Cox, president of the South Grey Chamber of Commerce. “We encourage everyone to attend, ask questions, and make an informed decision in the upcoming election.”

Admission is free. You can register on the South Grey Chamber of Commerce website if you wish to submit a question for possible inclusion prior to the evening.
