On Friday, March 6, the Municipality of Meaford officially launched She Moves Meaford, a community storytelling campaign that celebrates the women whose leadership, creativity, and resilience help our community thrive. The launch began with a flag-raising at Meaford Hall in recognition of International Women’s Day on March 8, marking the official start of She Moves Meaford.
“Today’s flag-raising is a meaningful way to recognize the women who strengthen our community every day,” said Deputy Mayor Shirley Keaveny. “She Moves Meaford celebrates their leadership, their creativity, and the many ways they help move our municipality forward.”
She Moves Meaford highlights women-led businesses, volunteers, community builders, and municipal staff who make a meaningful impact every day. The campaign is designed to celebrate the voices and stories of women who help move Meaford forward.
Women across Meaford shape our community in countless ways through entrepreneurship, caregiving, service, creativity, advocacy, and leadership. She Moves Meaford recognizes these contributions through community nominations and voluntary participation. Throughout the week of March 8, spotlights of this year’s featured women will be shared on the Municipality’s social media channels, and a brief overview, along with the full list of nominees, is available on our website at meaford.ca/shemovesmeaford. The Municipality looks forward to sharing these stories with the community.
