Grey Bruce OPP Release Canada Day Campaign Results

Grey Bruce Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) released the results of its Canada Day traffic safety campaign, which ran from June 27 to July 6.

During the ten-day initiative, Grey Bruce OPP officers laid a total of 196 charges, emphasizing their commitment to road and waterway safety:

  • 33 seatbelt charges
  • 3 charges related to Personal Flotation Device (PFD) compliance
  • 139 speeding charges
  • 13 impaired driving charges
  • 8 stunt driving charges

Officers focused on high-risk driving behaviours and safety equipment compliance to help reduce injuries and fatalities over the busy holiday period.

The Grey Bruce OPP remains firmly committed to public safety and reminds all residents and visitors that responsible driving and proper use of safety gear – both on the roads and in the water – can save lives,” said Grey Bruce OPP.
