An individual from South Bruce Peninsula is facing impaired driving and drug-related charges following a single motor vehicle collision on Highway 26 near the 6th Concession in the Municipality of Meaford.
On October 28, at approximately 6:53 p.m., Grey Bruce Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to a report of a single motor vehicle collision. A concerned citizen had called in a traffic complaint, reporting that a vehicle was swerving erratically before crashing into a telephone pole. The lone driver was not injured.
A 54-year-old, of South Bruce Peninsula, is charged with:
- Operation while Impaired – Drug
- Possession of a Controlled Substance – Controlled Drugs and Substances Act
A 90-day Administrative Driver’s Licence Suspension (ADLS) and a seven-day vehicle impoundment were initiated as per statute.
The accused was released from custody and is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Owen Sound on November 13.
