Tree Trust TBM is sponsoring several educational Tree Talks this spring.
The first in this series will be a talk by Dr. Barbara Zimmerman showcasing conservation efforts on the Kayapo Lands in the Amazon rainforest. Dr. Zimmerman has worked with local, national, and international partners to safeguard over 110,000 km2 of legally ratified territories in the Amazon. Dr. Zimmerman has decades of experience protecting the Amazon rainforest and empowering indigenous communities. Her journey began with academic pursuits in ecology at the University of Guelph and Florida State University. In 1989, she became deeply involved in the indigenous activist movement of the Kayapo in the Brazilian Amazon and has continued in this critically important role.
This Tree Talk event offers a unique opportunity to gain insights into Dr. Zimmerman’s remarkable conservation efforts and the importance of preserving our planet’s ecosystems.
