Contestants Announced for Dragons’ Den Meaford 2015


What do homemade soap, sterling silver jewelry, local beer, handcrafted wood furniture, and a great new marketing tool have in common? You will find them all on stage at this year’s Dragons’ Den Meaford.

The Meaford Chamber of Commerce will host the 7th Annual Dragons’ Den Meaford competition on Wednesday, October 28th, 2015, 7:30 PM, at Meaford Hall.

Dragons’ Den has been a great success for Meaford’s local entrepreneurs and the organizing committee continues to improve the event every year. This year’s new addition is a focus on the continued support of contestants after the event.

The quality of the applications that we received this year was impressive and the number of applications nearly doubled! We thank all of the businesses who applied to be a contestant and for the significant effort they put into their submissions. The selection committee, comprised of members of our local business community, has now chosen our five finalists for the show. Each of them will be on stage, October 28, to pitch their growing business idea to our five Dragons. Up for grabs is a share in almost $25,000 in cash and prizes,” said organizers.

The five contestants for 2015 are:

Candice and Michael Ruhl -Candice Ruhl Designs

Mark Lewis – Bell Tower Craft Brewery

Scott Gooch – Bayview Escarpment Fine Furniture & Cabinetry

Tanya Snell –

Zach Hannam – Zaagi Soap Co.

Once again this year the “Audience Choice” award will be awarded to the contestant who receives the most votes from the audience. Five dollars from every ticket sold will be put into a prize fund to be awarded at the end of the evening.
