Step Into the Spotlight at the 2025 MIFF Red Carpet Gala

The red carpet is rolling out once again for the MIFF Gala, taking place on Thursday, September 18, at Meaford Hall. This year, guests are invited to step back in time with a dazzling ‘Old Hollywood’ theme that promises an unforgettable evening of glamour, music, and celebration.

The MIFF Gala, a fundraiser for the Meaford Culture Foundation, marks the highly anticipated opening night of the Meaford International Film Festival, and it’s your chance to mix and mingle with the Who’s Who of Meaford in true star-studded fashion.

Event highlights Include:

  • A classic Old Hollywood dress code — come dressed to impress in vintage elegance;
  • A captivating performance by the incomparable Victoria Yeh, renowned fusion violinist;
  • Delicious refreshments and cocktails throughout the evening (cash bar).

Enjoy a vibrant atmosphere filled with filmmakers, film lovers, and community leaders. Special guests include:

  • Allison Black and Nathan Morlando, a dynamic duo who develop, produce, write, and direct international award-winning films, including Giant Little Ones, which premiered at TIFF, and Mean Dreams, which premiered at Cannes. Other credits include the internationally acclaimed Canadian television series Cardinal.
  • Michael Storey, an award-winning cinematographer known for big budget American series such as Super Girl and Designated Survivor as well as quality Canadian shows Republic of Doyle and Birth of A Country.
  • Moira Holmes, an award-winning film and television producer, now president of Film Finances Canada, which provides completion guarantees to the film and television industry. She has overseen the delivery of countless film and television productions from some of Canada’s most important filmmakers including Atom Egoyan, David Cronenberg, Deepa Mehta, and Denis Villeneuve.
  • Ben Mark Holzberg, a seasoned film set and editorial photographer with more than 45 years’ experience. Film and television credits include Designated Survivor, Fellow Travelers, Star Trek Discovery, The Comey Rule, Titans, 12 Monkeys, Stephen King’s 11.22.63, Defiance, Reign, Nikita, Murdoch Mysteries, and Flashpoint.
  • Josh Saltzman, a film and TV developer for HBO MAX, Netflix, CBC, and Amazon. He is the supervising producer and writer on the hit drama Moonshine on CBC/CW and has also written the new PEANUTS holiday special Call Me Fitz for HBO Canada, and was the head writer of Inspector Gadget on Netflix.
