Save Georgian Bay Has A New Mascot For Their Annual Polar Dip

Say hello to Chilly, the ‘Save the Bay Polar Dip’ mascot. If you were lucky enough to be shopping downtown Meaford or just passing through over the weekend, you might have seen him as he visited businesses and waved to the passing traffic. He was reminding people of the third Annual Polar Dip happening on February 24, at Fred Raper Park. If you missed him, he has confirmed that he will be at the dip.

Dippers will enter the frigid waters of Georgian Bay at 1 p.m., with registration starting at 11:30 a.m. As in previous dips, there will be First Nations drummers as well as coffee and hot chocolate sponsored by McGinty’s and Save Georgian Bay.

Those wanting to dip are encouraged to register online: https://polardip.savegeorgianbay.ca. Sponsors are needed for the dippers and can use the same website. Tax receipts are available for contributions.

Save Georgian Bay is a community group committed to preventing the pumped storage plant proposed by TC Energy from harming the precious ecosystem of Georgian Bay and the Niagara Escarpment.
