Editor,
Short term gain but long term pain vs. long term gain, no pain? The first will be the resultant effect TCE has on all of us. There is a better way.
Look at the area between Hwy 26, Georgian Bay, the army base and the 7th Line. This area is prime development land. Imagine the income to the Municipality of Meaford (long term gain) if there was greater residential development in this prime and pristine but yet under developed location. Think of long term employment, taxation, and retail opportunities; that is long term gain with manageable/minimal pain for the municipality, the environment, and thousands of people who work and play in such an unspoiled beautiful part of Ontario – more long term gain!
It is never too late to stop desecration that once started can never be stopped. It is time to stop it now. It is time to look to the future and think long term gain/no pain.
