Dear Editor,
There is an old saying: “Only after the last tree is cut down; only after the last river has been poisoned; only after the last fish has been caught; only then will you find that money can not be eaten.”
With this in mind, I went out and set up my protest signs to remind people that they are losing their water, health care, public lands, and education. Too many sit back and say they are only one and can do nothing. Greta Thunberg was one voice to start but look at her now. Brian Docherty was one voice but he started the strike that shut down the country. One voice has big impact. The power of one is not to be ignored. You can save Ontario. If you can’t get out and scream your objection, write letters to politicians, make signs, call radio talk shows, write letters to the editor in all parts of the province. Do something before it is too late.
What if your letter is the one read by someone who can do something powerful? Politics is stealing public health care, water, public education, public protected land and basic democracy we built over the last two hundred years, for the benefit of wealthy insiders. Fight now or lose everything your kids take for granted. Once gone we will never get them back.
Sincerely,
Roberta Docherty, Meaford
