Obituary: Watters, Rosalind Marie ‘Roz’

On Tuesday, April 16, 2024, after a short battle with leukemia, our Rosalind Marie passed away peacefully with the love of her life, Lanny, by her side at the Victoria Hospital in London at the age of 72.

Born in Toronto on October 20, 1951, she was the daughter of Russell and the late Donna (nee Stone) Bell.

Roz’s career started as an assistant librarian in Etobicoke. Roz and Lanny moved to Meaford where she got a job at the library. Roz also worked at other businesses in Meaford such as Bill’s Valu-Mart and GBSS with Lanny.

Roz was always forming lasting relationships. She was a non-judgmental, genuine, kind soul. She loved her girls’ getaways, a good book, the many dogs she has had in her lifetime, and her backyard. But more than anything, more than life – she adored Lanny, her love and soulmate.

Rozzie was predeceased by her much-loved son Jeff and her niece Taylor, who were waiting in Heaven for her.

She is lovingly remembered by her brothers Don (Jacklyn) and Chris (Jessica) Bell, as well as her mother-in-law Anastasia Watters. She will be missed dearly by her nephews Travis and Wolfgang Bell.

Remember in Rozzie’s way: “Here’s a little ditty: Wherever you may be, keep your Bippie free.”

There is a great need for blood and plasma donations in Canada, a cause that was near and dear to Roz, so, as per her wishes and in honour of Rozzie, please donate blood.

All are invited to gather to celebrate Roz’s life at the Harbour Pavilion in Meaford on Saturday, July 27, 2024, from 1 until 4 p.m., with tributes shared at 2 o’clock.

As your expression of sympathy, donations to the Grey Bruce Animal Shelter or Canadian Blood Services would be appreciated and may be made through the Ferguson Funeral Home, 48 Boucher St. E., Meaford, ON, N4L 1B9, to whom arrangements have been entrusted. www.fergusonfuneralhomes.ca
