Sylvia Kelly passed away peacefully with her loving and devoted son by her side on Wednesday, April 1, 2026, at peopleCare Long Term Care Home in Meaford at the age of 86.
Born in Toronto on November 18, 1939, a daughter of the late Lillian (nee Badour) and Alphonsus Mulvihill.
Sylvia was predeceased by her beloved husband Robert ‘Bob’ Kelly on July 9, 2010.
She was the much-loved treasured mother of Paul Kelly (Barbara Spencer) of Toronto, and was predeceased by her daughter Teresa Elliot.
Sylvia was the dear sister of Monica Mulvihill, and was predeceased by her sister Gloria Carr, brothers Brian Mulvihill (Sandra) and Ted Mulvihill (late Gloria), and brother-in-law Jack Kelly. Sylvia will be remembered fondly by her nieces, her nephew, and their families.
She will be missed by her special friends Jean Hedditch (late Ray) and Elizabeth Dunning; their kindness and friendship meant the world to her. She was predeceased by her dear friends Byron and Marty Lacey.
Sylvia and Bob loved Meaford and all that it had to offer. They fell in love with the community and the people. She loved to get involved in activities and she looked forward to the scarecrow workshops and of course the parade. Sylvia was full of life and her energy was contagious. She loved to organize events and activities, she was sharp-witted, had a fantastic sense of humour and was kindhearted. Syvia made the most of each and every day.
Thank you to the staff at peopleCare Long Term Care Home in Meaford and to Dr. Alexandra Collins for the care and compassion shown to Sylvia over the years.
A mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated in the near future at a date to be announced soon. Interment will follow at Lakeview Cemetery in Meaford.
