LaVerne Haines passed away peacefully at Errinrung Nursing Home in Thornbury on Tuesday, December 13, 2022, at the age of 89.
Born in Kimberley on November 1st, 1933, he was a son of the late Stanley and Nettie (nee Press) Haines. LaVerne was predeceased by his wife Cynthia (nee Oldfield) Haines.
He was the much-loved father of Scott Haines (Kimberly) of Collingwood and Sheri Haines of Thornbury.
LaVerne was the proud Popa of Hailey Haines, Todd Griffin, and Kaitlynn Haines and Bradley Haines.
He will be missed by his brother Brian Haines (MaryAnn) of Stayner.
LaVerne will be remembered fondly by his nephew Chris Haines of Meaford, his niece Jennifer Haines of Quebec, and his extended family.
He spent many years hunting, fishing and playing baseball in the community and made many friends during that time.
Private family arrangements at this time with interment at Lakeview Cemetery in the Spring of 2023.
