Isabel passed away peacefully at Grey Gables Nursing Home in Markdale on Thursday, November 6, 2025, at the age of 94.
Born in St. Vincent Township on January 10, 1931, Isabel was a daughter of the late John and Ada (nee Shields) Cramp.
Isabel was the treasured sister of Marjorie Davison and Kathryn ‘Kay’ Cramp, and sister-in-law of Verla Cramp-White (Ivan ‘Ike’ White). She was predeceased by her brothers Lloyd Cramp, Ross Cramp, Murray Cramp (late Jane), and brother-in-law Don Davison. Isabel was a wonderful aunt to Bonnie Jolley, Kay McCutcheon (late Glen), Betsy House (Art), Bob Cramp (late Brenda), David Cramp (Shannon), Nancy Davison, Scott Davison (Tracy), Lynn Chadder (late Chris), Steven Cramp (Julie), and was predeceased by nephew Michael Cramp, and will be remembered fondly by Chris Cramp Storey and by her many great-nieces, great-nephews and their families.
Isabel was kind, generous, smart, independent and strongwilled. She started out teaching locally in the smaller country schools and eventually took a teaching job in Aurora, where she taught for many years. Upon retirement, Isabel cared for her parents in their later years. She valued her friendships and was very close to her church family. Isabel took great pride in her home: she loved her neighbourhood on Montgomery Street in Meaford and always looked forward to catching up with neighbours and friends while out walking her dog.
A funeral service will be conducted at Knox Presbyterian Church in Meaford on Wednesday, November 12, 2025, at 1 o’clock, with visiting the hour prior to service. A service of committal and interment will take place at Lakeview Cemetery in Meaford.
