Our hearts are heavy as we say that Lloyd passed away on Sunday, July 2, 2023, following a cancer diagnosis in late January.
Lloyd was born in Collingwood on April 21, 1945, to David and Dorothy (Fisher) Adams. The family moved to Meaford two years later, where Lloyd spent the rest of his life living and working.
He joined the Meaford Public Utilities in 1966 and worked in the Water Department until his retirement as Superintendent at the end of 2001. He then worked part time under Henderson Paddon/Genivar out of Owen Sound checking small area water systems, retiring from that job in June 2017, having spent well over 50 years in the drinking water industry.
Lloyd made a decision to give his heart to his Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ on February 1, 1968, and endeavoured to live out a life of faith from that time forward.
Lloyd was much loved and respected by his family, leaving Katharine (“Kate” to him) (Higginson), his wife of 52 years, their son Matthew and daughter-in-law Cathy, and treasured grandchildren Jackson and Chloe. Lloyd is also survived by his sister Patricia Maclean and by Kathy’s siblings and their spouses Lynda (Ron Harris), Joanne (Bob Snell), Jeff (Shelley), Mary (Jim DeMarsh), and Chris (Jean). He was predeceased by Kathy’s brother Mike (1974) and by Patricia’s husband John Maclean (2020). He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, and grand-nieces and nephews.
