Dearest Terry,
Since I saw you as I was walking south on Yonge St. in Thornhill, Ontario, in 1980, you touched my heart in a big way.
I have done the Run 42 times. I missed the run in 2019 as I sustained a big pain in my left hip and was in pretty rough shape. Sorry. This year will be 43, live in Meaford where I’ve made my new home.
I’ll be walking the ‘Run’.
In the early years, I ran 10k in Toronto, in Minden, alone and in groups. For five years I had a team in Toronto. It was called ‘Barb Rosen’s ESL adult run for Terry Fox’. As a teacher for adults of English as a Second Language at the North York Public Library, I encouraged the students to talk about their experiences with cancer and donate to cancer research. We walked around Mel Lastman Square each year for an hour.
You’re my hero, Terry!
Love,
Barb Rosen, Meaford
