Meaford to Host Canada Connects Family National Mural Mosaic Installation

The Municipality of Meaford has announced the upcoming installation of the Canada Connects Family National Mural Mosaic as part of Mural Mosaic’s Global Roots Project. This vibrant piece of art will be unveiled on October 20 in the heart of Meaford, bringing a unique cultural landmark to our community.

The Canada Connects Family Mosaic is a testament to the power of collaboration, featuring hundreds of tiles painted by artists of all skill levels from across Canada and around the world. Each tile, with its unique style and expression, reflects the artist’s interpretation of connection and community, creating a beautiful tapestry of diversity and unity.

“I am thrilled to announce that our municipality will be joining the national Mural Mosaic Global Roots Project, a wonderful initiative that aligns with our rich history and deep appreciation for art and culture. This project not only offers a canvas for artists to showcase their talent but also reflects our commitment to supporting the arts within our community,” said Mayor Ross Kentner. “The mosaic mural will serve as a vibrant symbol of our nation’s heritage and values, weaving together stories and traditions that have shaped our identity. By participating in this project, we are not only beautifying our urban centre but also fostering a sense of unity and pride among our residents. Art has always been a cornerstone of our community, and this mural is a testament to our ongoing support for the creative spirit that enriches our lives. We eagerly anticipate the unveiling of this masterpiece this fall and look forward to celebrating the talent and creativity of the artists who have contributed to this exciting endeavour.”

The Municipality is looking forward to the unveiling in October.

Meaford is honoured to be part of this global initiative and welcomes all residents and visitors to experience the Canada Connects Family Mosaic. We hope it will inspire artists to continue exploring their creativity and encourage everyone to celebrate the connections that bring us together,” said the Municipality. “Join us on October 20, 2024, for the unveiling of this incredible mural, and be part of a community that values art, unity, and cultural heritage. Timing to be confirmed.”
