Holly Cornforth, a Grade 9 student at Georgian Bay Community School, won the 100 metre Sprint race at the Bluewater District School Board regional track meet in Kincardine on May 12.
Her time of 13.43 seconds was the fastest of all female racers in Grades 9, 10, 11 and 12 in this event at the meet. Holly trains with the South Simcoe Dufferin Track Club in Barrie and enjoys running on her high school track team here in Meaford as well.
Holly has advanced in both the 100 and 200 metre Sprint races at the Central Ontario West Regional High School meet in Brantford on May 18-19.
