The Municipality of Meaford is partnering with the Town of The Blue Mountains for this year’s Open Fields Farm Tour, taking place on Saturday, September 27.
This free, family-friendly event invites residents and visitors to step behind the gates of working farms, connect with local farmers, and experience firsthand the important role agriculture plays in our community. Running from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., the self-guided tour showcases modern farming practices, interactive demonstrations, family activities, live entertainment, and local vendors.
“We are so excited to add some interesting farms into the mix this year,” said Councillor Rob Uhrig, Chair of the Growing our Economy Advisory Committee. “We have some really great farms in Meaford, and we’re looking forward to having them included as part of the tour to show the unique mix that Grey County has to offer.”
The full list of participating farm locations will be announced soon. Open Fields is a free, rain-or-shine event, and visitors are encouraged to dress for a day on the farm with proper footwear.
