Live Fire Exercise at the 4th Canadian Division Training Centre This Weekend

The Commanding Officer of the 4th Canadian Division Training Centre (4 CDTC) is advising the public of a live fire exercise taking place at 4 CDTC, Meaford this weekend.

4 CDTC recognizes the importance of community cooperation. Without the support of local communities, military members would not be able to accomplish their mission. Local communities provide key supports and services to military members that are necessary and appreciated. Activities on base occasionally impact the local area. While this may be unavoidable at times, 4 CDTC appreciates the understanding of local residents and does not underestimate this very important reciprocal relationship,” said the Commanding Officer.

Soldiers from 56th Field Artillery Regiment of the Royal Canadian Artillery (RCA) will be conducting live fire exercises at 4 CDTC Meaford from October 24– 26. Noise from ranges at the training center may be heard between 7:30am to 11:59pm on those days.

Residents may notice a succession of loud noises during this time. Noise may be heard from weapons and large-calibre guns firing simultaneously. This exercise is purely for training purposes and at no time will safety or security of the public be in jeopardy.

The Commanding Officer thanks the public for their continued support to our military community.
