Live Fire Exercise at the 4th Canadian Division Training Centre In Meaford

The Commanding Officer of the 4th Canadian Division Training Centre (4CDTC) has informed of upcoming military training activities in Meaford.

4 CDTC recognizes the importance of community cooperation. Without the support of local communities, military members would not be able to accomplish their mission. Local communities provide key supports and services that are essential and greatly appreciated by military members,” said the Commanding Officer. “Activities on base occasionally impact the local area. While this may be unavoidable at times, 4 CDTC sincerely appreciates the understanding of local residents and does not underestimate the value of this important reciprocal relationship.”

Soldiers from the 11th Field Artillery Regiment will be conducting live fire exercises at 4 CDTC Meaford between November 22 to 24. Noise from ranges at the training centre may be heard between the hours of 8 a.m. and 11:59 p.m. daily.

Residents may notice a series of loud noises during this time, including sounds from weapons and large-calibre guns firing simultaneously. This exercise is for training purposes, and at no time will the safety or security of the public be jeopardized.
