Editor,
Concerning my comments about the standing ovation of our Parliamentarians for the eulogy for Charlie Kirk. Charlie Kirk came into my radar some months ago. After a few viewings of his activities and espoused beliefs I came to regard him as I described in my previous letter.
Following a conversation with our MP and canvassing a number of my friends and acquaintances, it seems that not many Canadians appear to have heard of Charlie Kirk before the assassination. Our MP is one such individual and he reckons that it is highly probable very few of the other Parliamentarians knew of him or his political activities. I made an assumption that since I knew of Charlie through the internet that most people would be similarly familiar with him. I was incorrect in my assumption and may have been unduly harsh on our MPs. I am happy to note that there were two MPs who did remain seated and probably like me, came across him through the internet or some other source.
Anyone familiar with the 4 agreements will rightly chastise me for failing to observe number 3! Mea Culpa! However, the person giving the eulogy I would suggest most certainly would have known. I will leave that for discussion among our Parliamentarians, particularly the ones on her side of the chamber.
