A woman has been arrested and charged twice in the same day in Meaford.
On November 1, 2022, at 4:06 p.m., members from the Grey Bruce Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to a traffic complaint regarding a driver that was possibly impaired on Sykes Street North in the Municipality of Meaford.
Officers arrived on scene, and the driver of the motor vehicle was placed under arrest. The 25-year-old female from Collingwood was charged with failure or refusal to comply with demand. They were released on scene with a scheduled court date at the Ontario Court of Justice in Owen Sound.
On the same day at 10 p.m., members of the Grey Bruce OPP responded to a report of a disturbance on Sykes Street North. Officers arrived on scene and discovered that the same accused from earlier, had now committed more criminal offences. The accused was placed under arrest and charged with the following offences:
- Mischief under $5,000
The accused was transported to a Grey Bruce OPP detachment is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Owen Sound at a later date.
