With 121 days of snow, over four metres of natural snowfall, and an unforgettable run of winter moments, Blue Mountain Resort officially called the last chair on the 2024/25 ski season on Monday, April 21.
“This season had it all—deep snow, bluebird days, and even a late-season ice storm,” said Tara Lovell, Manager, Public Relations at Blue Mountain Resort. “We owe this incredible season to the unsung heroes—our mountain ops crew, our operators, and all of our team members who make great experiences for our guests both on- and off-hill throughout the winter. They powered us through from first tracks to final runs.”
The season was one for the books, with more natural snowfall than any other in the past decade and some of the most consistent conditions seen in years. Thanks to Blue’s industry-leading snowmaking infrastructure and a hardworking team that farms and maintains terrain daily, skiers and riders experienced top-tier conditions all winter long.
Despite a late-season power outage caused by the ice storm, the Resort quickly bounced back thanks to the tireless efforts of the Operations Team and the fast response of Hydro One. Their behind-the-scenes work ensured Blue could stay the course and ski all the way to the planned closing date.
“Most people never see what happens before dawn at the top of the mountain,” Lovell added. “But that’s where seasons like this are made.”
As the season officially wraps, Blue Mountain thanks its guests, pass holders, staff, and community for being part of another epic winter.
