Library supporters and champions in Meaford recently gathered at the new Library Fundraising Thermometer to celebrate an exciting event – the fundraising campaign for the new Library building has now exceeded $525,000.
To recognize this occasion, the Fundraising Thermometer reveals another ‘book’ to indicate the new milestone.
Since beginning the fundraising campaign in early 2018, the Meaford Public Library Fundraising Committee is now well on the way to its goal of raising $750,000 to support the new, accessible Library building.
With the end of the tax year coming up, the Meaford Public Library Fundraising Committee has pledged to try and raise an additional $50,000 by December 31, 2019. As an example, if 1,000 people donate $50 each, the committee will be able to achieve that goal.
Letters regarding this yearend donation campaign will be sent out through the mail later this month so please consider giving your support to the new Library building. Contributions over $20 are eligible for a tax receipt from the Friends of the Meaford Library.
You can make your donation in person at the Meaford Public Library or online at www.meaford.ca/newlibrary. For more information, call 519-538-1060 ext. 1123 or email: newlibrary@meaford.ca.
“Construction for the new Library building is well underway and we anticipate the new building will be open in Fall 2020. Thank you for supporting the new, accessible Meaford Public Library,” said the Library.
