The certified election results for English Public School Board Trustee were released on Tuesday, informing that Scott Cowley earned enough votes to capture the position.
On election night, October 26, Cowley’s opponent, Angela Forder had been declared the unofficial winner, however it was discovered on Tuesday morning that there was an error in the vote count provided by the Town of the Blue Mountains.
Per the official, certified results, Cowley received 3,881 votes, while Forder earned 3,685 votes.
“The unofficial results released on the evening of October 26, 2026 identified Angela Forder as the candidate who received the most votes for School Board Trustee – English Public. During the certification of results on October 27, 2026, the Clerk for the Town of the Blue Mountains identified an error in the number of votes initially reported to the Municipality of Meaford, which impacted the outcome of the race,” said Meaford’s municipal Clerk in a media release issued on Tuesday.
