Three Charged After Investigation into Church Break-ins

opp logo270Grey County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) have arrested and charged three people in connection to three church break-ins that occurred in the Municipality of Meaford last September.

Sometime overnight on September 22 and early morning September 23, 2016, three churches in Meaford were broken into – Christ Anglican Church, Meaford United Church and First Baptist Church. Four laptop computers and cash were stolen.

After an ongoing investigation by Grey County OPP and the OPP Community Street Crime Unit – Grey-Bruce – three people have been arrested and charged.

19-year old Joseph Alexander Plantt, of Meaford, is charged with break and enter ( three counts). He is scheduled to appear in court in Owen Sound on June 1, 2017.

Two male youths, age 14 and 15, both of Meaford, have been charged with break and enter. They are scheduled to appear in youth court on June 27, 2017.

The investigation is ongoing and additional charges are anticipated.
