Cyclist in Critical Condition After Collision With Truck

opp logo270On September 13, 2016 at approximately 6:40 a.m., Grey County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to collision involving a Dodge Ram pick-up truck and a cyclist on Grey Rd. 112, also known as Range Rd., in the Municipality of Meaford.

The pick-up truck and the cyclist were both travelling northbound on Grey Rd. 112 when the collision occurred.

The cyclist, a 55-year old Meaford man, was taken to hospital and was later air-lifted to a London hospital where he is in critical condition.

The pick-up truck driver, a 57-year old Owen Sound man, called 9-1-1 and provided first aid to the victim until such time as paramedics and emergency personnel attended the scene.

The investigation is ongoing.
