Residents have a new way to have their say on the projects shaping Grey County. Connect Grey, the County’s new online engagement platform, is a place for community members to learn about County projects, share ideas, and help inform decisions that affect them.
The platform went live on October 9 with a Name the Plow engagement for the County’s snowplow fleet. Residents were asked to put their creativity to work and submit up to three names at connectgrey.ca by October 22, then come back on October 23 to vote for their favourites. Winning names will be announced later this fall and decals will be added to the plows for the winter season.
“Connect Grey makes it easier for residents to be part of the conversation, whenever and wherever it suits them,” said Rob Hatten, Grey County’s communications manager. “The feedback we hear from residents helps shape the decisions we make. Whether you’re suggesting a name for a snowplow or sharing your thoughts on a major County project, we want to hear from you.”
Connect Grey brings the County’s public engagement opportunities together in one place so residents can share their opinions, ask questions and follow updates on projects including the Redeveloping Rockwood Terrace, Resilient Grey and Municipal Road Transfers projects. More projects and engagement opportunities will be added to Connect Grey in the coming months. Residents are encouraged to explore the platform and create a free account. Account holders can follow projects to receive updates as they progress and sign up for email notifications when new projects match their interests.
Over time, Grey County will work with local municipalities to connect their engagement sites to Connect Grey, creating a single regional hub where residents can engage with both Grey County and their local municipality using one account.
