Steel Magnolias Coming to Woodford Hall Stage

The Meaford Theatre Company is bringing one of the most beloved stories of friendship, strength, and resilience to the stage with Steel Magnolias, coming to Woodford Hall this month, directed by Helen Solmes and Bryan James.

Set in a small Southern hair salon, Steel Magnolias follows a close-knit group of women as they navigate life’s joys, challenges, laughter and heartbreak together. Through witty conversations, unforgettable personalities and moments of genuine vulnerability, the play celebrates the powerful bonds that can carry us through even the most difficult times.

At the heart of Steel Magnolias is the friendship between women — the kind built on laughter, honesty, support, and sometimes a little bit of tough love. Audiences will be invited into the intimate world of Truvy’s salon, where no topic is off limits and everyone has a story to share.

“Sometimes strength looks like showing up for your friends, sharing a laugh when you need it most, and being there through life’s hardest moments,” said producer Kelly Ward. “Our talented cast of Magnolias have been very supportive throughout the production. The cast includes Peggy McIntosh, Keri-Lyn Durant, Wendy Wilburn, Leslie Ransom, Rhona Berger, and Kelly Ward.”

Whether you know and love the classic story or are experiencing Steel Magnolias for the first time, this production promises humour, heart, and plenty of memorable moments.

The show runs October 16-17 and October 22-24 at 7 p.m., with a matinee performance on October 18 at 2 p.m. The audience is encouraged to join the fun and ‘Dress Like Dolly’ for the October 17 performance for a chance to win a prize. Tickets are available at the Book Hive and online at www.3common.com/MeafordTheatreCompany.

Come meet the women of Steel Magnolias and experience a story that proves friendship can be one of life’s greatest sources of strength.
