Obituary: Sinclair, Audrey Marion (Almond)

June 15, 1936 – August 8, 2026

It is with great sorrow and unending love that we announce the passing of Audrey Marion Sinclair (Almond).

After a brief fight with liver cancer, Marion passed away at home with her family by her side. We share our profound sadness but are happy that Mom lived such a full life. Marion will be joining the love of her life, dedicated and devoted wife of 63 years to Robert (Bob) Sinclair (predeceased in 2016).

Matriarch and committed mother to Cynthia Sinclair, Doug Sinclair (Leona predeceased) and Tom Sinclair (Ann). Loveable and proud gram to Max Hardy (Kelsey), Jordan Sinclair (Georgia), Cameron Sinclair, Paige Hardy (Josh), and Adam Sinclair. Marion was an engaged and joyous great gram “GG” to Myles Sinclair, Bella Sinclair, Avery Hardy, Layla Hardy, and Riley Hardy.

Marion was raised on the family farm on the 4th line of Meaford by the late Bert and Dorothy Almond with her eight siblings: Faye Perks (Dave) predeceased, Ken Almond (Evelyn) predeceased, Bill Almond (Mabel), Joyce Franklin (Doug) predeceased, Helen Wamsley (Gord) predeceased, David Almond (Dorothy) predeceased, Vernon Almond (Shirley), and Jan Wilfong (Dave). She also leaves behind many loving nieces, nephews and cousins.

Marion worked 25 years at CIBC on College Ave. She was a constant partner with Bob at Sinclair renovations, Clairmor Windows, and Sinclair Windows and Doors, working hard together into their 70s.

Bob and Marion had great, fun times with their hobbies: horse racing, many travels and excursions including casinos and tours (many with Jan and Dave), and 11 great winters spent in Texas. Both being content while living full lives, filled with fun.

More recently, Marion continued to live her life to the fullest with her dear companion Johnny Hrico, playing cards, going to plays, and day trips to visit with family and friends.

We are so happy and grateful to have celebrated Mom’s 90th birthday in June. Mom was beaming and was so happy to have spent time with so many family and friends which was a day to remember.

Marion touched many lives, was a great, caring friend to many, and was an example for all of us to follow.

Private family internment will take place on August 29, 2026. Arrangements entrusted to the Wall-Custance Funeral Home & Chapel, 519-822-0051, www.wallcustance.com.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Sunday, September 13, 2026, from 1 – 5 p.m. at the Guelph Country Club, 133 Woodlawn Rd.

And I’ll be waiting on the far side banks of Jordan”

A tree will be planted in memory of A. Marion Sinclair in the Wall-Custance Memorial Forest.
