OPP Seeks Help In Counterfeit Money Investigation in Meaford

Grey Bruce Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) is asking for the public’s help in identifying two individuals connected to a counterfeit money incident in Meaford.

On Saturday, July 2, just after midnight, two unknown individuals went into the Circle K store in Meaford and attempted to make purchases using counterfeit $20 bills. The store clerk identified the bills as fake and refused the transaction.

The individuals then paid using real currency. At this time, it is unknown whether the individuals were aware that the bills were counterfeit. The investigation is ongoing, and officers are working to identify those involved.
