Lace up your running shoes and come out to the 29th Meaford Harbour 5K Run/Walk and free 1K Kids Fun Run. This annual event is set for Saturday, July 12, at 9 a.m., with all proceeds going to support the Meaford Hospital Foundation.
This year, participants and sponsors are uniting to raise $100,000 for critical Emergency Room equipment at Brightshores Meaford Hospital—a vital initiative that will strengthen emergency care for the entire community.
“This is part of a capital campaign where we aim to raise over $1 million to fund much-needed upgrades, from enhanced emergency and acute care services to improved surgical efficiency and diagnostic capabilities, ensuring every patient receives the best possible treatment,” said organizers.
In an extraordinary show of generosity, an anonymous donor has stepped forward to support the Meaford Harbour 5k Run/Walk by offering a $20,000 matching donation challenge. Every dollar donated in support of the Meaford Harbour 5K Run/Walk will be matched dollar for dollar, effectively doubling the impact of contributions. For a donation to qualify for the matching challenge, the donation must be made on the hospital foundation’s website or by calling the Foundation office directly.
