One person is facing charges after their dog bit another individual.
On December 10, at 10:43 a.m., members of the Grey Bruce Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to a report of a dog bite that occurred on Sykes Street North in Meaford. The victim attended a local hospital with minor injuries.
A 36-year-old from Meaford was charged with the following:
- Owner of dog – Fail to prevent biting or attacking a person or domestic animal.
The accused was given a court date at a later time.
The Grey Bruce OPP is reminding dog owners to be aware of local by-laws that govern where dogs can go off-leash. It’s important to familiarize yourself with these regulations to ensure you’re complying with the rules and respecting public spaces. Additionally, dog owners should always maintain control of their dogs, especially when off-leash, to ensure the safety of both the animal and others in the community.
