Community Foundation Grey Bruce is inviting charities and non-profit organizations across Grey and Bruce counties to submit grant applications for Fall Community Grants before September 15.
Projects must benefit the community in one of the following categories: health and wellness, arts and culture, education and lifelong learning, living standards and housing, the environment, and community connections; areas identified to create healthy communities in the Foundation’s Vital Signs reports.
Eligible non-profits may request up to $3,000 to support their local projects. In the fall of 2023, 30 charitable organizations were granted over $66,000 for projects, including accessible recreation opportunities for youth, environmental initiatives, local festivals, and food security efforts. The Foundation also has a spring intake period for Community Grants that supported 52 requests with over $128,000 in funds this year.
Organizations can access the online application form, assessment criteria, and full Vital Signs reports on the Community Foundation Grey Bruce’s website. It is advised that applicants confirm the eligibility of their project before beginning the application process by contacting Maryann Almas, Grants Co-ordinator at the Foundation office, at 519-371-7203.
Interested community members are encouraged to consider joining the Community Grant Review Team. As a Grant Review Team Volunteer you have the satisfaction of recommending disbursement of important financial support through CFGB grants to Non-profits and Charities across Grey Bruce in an equitable manner. Review team members give 12 hours of their time (on average) reviewing applications, and attend a daytime zoom meeting for review team consensus. Volunteers must be comfortable working online and have access to a computer and internet. Contact Maryann Almas, Grants Co-ordinator at the Foundation office at 519-371-7203 if interested.
