The Meaford Lawn Bowling Club executive offered a members only Open Pairs Tournament on Sunday afternoon, July 21, followed by a barbecue dinner.
Generally tournaments start in the morning and there is a break for lunch, followed by more games. This one however consisted of three ten end games in the afternoon followed by a great dinner. To make things even more fun, they played standard bowling rules then changed to Aussie Pairs rules, and in one end lawn bowlers were required to use their non non-dominant hand.
Twenty-two members participated, and David Hobson and Barb Loranger placed first with three wins. In second place were Jim Hamill and Leanne Cook, followed by Rick Baird and Danica Richard. In fourth place were Sue Singleton and Morgan Woodhouse.
