On Saturday, June 22, the Roselawn Lawn Bowling Club in Owen Sound hosted an invitational tournament. The participants were mostly from the Roselawn Club and the visiting Meaford Lawn Bowling Club.
The tournament was open pairs, which means that a team can be made up of any combination of genders. The Meaford pair of Jill Calvert-Goetz and Sue Singleton took top honours while second place went to Bill Bouwman and Lynda Eagles, also of Meaford. Third place, from the home club, was the team of John Fearnall and Jim Ansell. Awards were presented by Islay Hewgill.
Meaford will be hosting a tournament on July 3, where teams from Roselawn, Collingwood, Stayner, Chesley, Hanover, Walkerton, and more are expected.
