Celebrate the environment with local artists and community groups who are taking climate action at the Act for Climate Cabaret on June 5 at 7 p.m.
Animals process through the forest, songs fill the air, and humans mobilize to protect the planet in this evening of music, film, and performance at Harmony Centre in Owen Sound.
This family event for all ages features performances by David Sereda, M’Wikwedong Hand Drumming group, Joyce Hall, Joan Chandler, host Kit Boulter, Sheatre’s community actors with puppets Betsy Beaver and her buddies, characters from the Earth Day Parade, and short films by Jennifer Hayward, as well as illuminating words from climate activists.
Act for Climate Cabaret is a presentation of Sheatre, and Georgian Bluffs Climate Action Team (GBCAT), supported by IG Wealth Management Todd & Associates, the Community Foundation Grey Bruce, Township of Georgian Bluffs, and Harmony Centre. The cabaret is part of Harmony Centre’s Ten for Ten Anniversary Series, sponsored by Van Dolder’s Home Team. Admission is free. Doors open at 6:30 p.m. at Harmony Centre Owen Sound, 890 4th Avenue East.
“Please come and experience the mobilizing power of the arts,” invites GBCAT’s Danuta Valleau.
