With a generous donation of $65,000 from the W. Garfield Weston Foundation, the Meaford Public Library Fundraising Campaign has now exceeded its fundraising goal of $750,000.
A September 14 cheque presentation brought the W. Garfield Weston Foundation’s total support to $65,000, which is comprised of $15,000 in 2019 and $50,000 in 2020. This latest contribution means that the total funds raised for the new library are now more than $780,000.
In recognition of its support, a room in the new library will be named after the Foundation.
“Sincere thanks to the W. Garfield Weston Foundation, all of our donors, the Friends of the Meaford Library, the Fundraising Committee, and the Library board for making this great achievement possible,” said the library.
