Effective Thursday, March 1, all Municipality of Meaford Roads were placed under a reduced load (5 tonnes per axle) restriction, and due to continued wintery weather conditions the restrictions will remain in place until May 15.
Load restriction periods are weather-dependent. They may be extended as late as May 31 due to changing weather patterns. Notice updates will be issued to define restriction periods based on seasonal weather conditions.
Load weight is restricted on roads throughout the Municipality at the discretion of the Manager, Transportation & Fleet Services. Once the road is determined to be structurally sound, load restrictions may be lifted.
Individuals may apply for an exemption permit to the load restrictions. Applications must be made in writing to the Manager, Transportation & Fleet Services. Requests can be submitted to the Administrative Office at 21 Trowbridge Street West, Meaford.
