Obituary
It is with heavy hearts we announce the passing of a beloved husband, father and grandfather. Leonard Kenneth Johnson passed away in his 82nd year with his family by his side, on Wednesday, February 28th, 2018 at the Chapman House Hospice in Owen Sound.
Len was the loving husband of Cecilia Johnson (nee Sylvest), wonderful father of Lynne Johnson (George Auer), Owen Sound, Brian Johnson (Marie) and Barry Johnson (Kim), both of Meaford. He was also “Dad” to Enrique Silva (Sylvi), of Cambridge and cherished grandpa of Melissa Helwig (Rob Barten) of Halifax, Lesley Morrison (Wyatt) of Guelph, Nathan Johnson Ferris (Winsome Stec) of Toronto, Daryl (Andria Gurney), Blane, Kadin, Jayme and Riley Johnson, all of Meaford.
He was the adored great-grandpa of Lucy, Callum and Beatrix Morrison and is fondly remembered by his sisters Reha Cameron (late Ted) and Donna Barfoot (Ken), numerous brothers and sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews, cousins and countless friends.
After operating Johnson Jewellers in Meaford for more than 40 years, Len retired and enjoyed volunteering at local nursing homes, driving for the Canadian Cancer Society and was an active member of the Full Gospel Businessman’s Association and Rockcliffe Pentecostal Church.
Len will be remembered for his positive outlook, kindness, compassion and willingness to help others, especially his love and devotion for his family. But above all, his biggest legacy will be his unending love for Jesus Christ.
Cremation has taken place and a Celebration of Len’s Life will be held on March 10th, 2018 at Rockcliffe Pentecostal Church, 10 – 4th Avenue South West, Owen Sound. Reflections will be held at 10:00 a.m. immediately followed by a reception.
