Single Vehicle Collision Results in Impaired Driving Charges

opp logo270On June 2, at approximately 11:41 p.m., Grey County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) investigated a single motor vehicle collision on Hwy. 26 near Starlight Lane in the Municipality of Meaford.

A 2007 Chevrolet Uplander van left the roadway and collided with a guard rail, resulting in nine damaged posts and extensive damage to the front end of the vehicle. The lone driver was not injured. She had been drinking alcohol.

As a result of the investigation, 32-year-old Megan Deeves, of the Municipality of West Grey, was arrested and charged with impaired operation of a motor vehicle and having over 80 milligrams of alcohol in her system. She was also charged with careless driving under the Highway Traffic Act (HTA).

She is scheduled to appear in court in Owen Sound on June 15.
