Seniors’ Fair Returns For 10th Year

Staff

seniorsfair2017 270June is Seniors’ Month and is designated to give special recognition to a very important part of society. To celebrate Seniors’ Month, the 10th annual United Way Bruce Grey Seniors’ Fair will be held on Wednesday, June 7 from 10 a.m. – 3 p.m. at the fully accessible Harry Lumley Bayshore Community Centre in Owen Sound.

The Bayshore will be filled with over 85 exhibitors, including over 50 government and non-profit organizations which focus on services, products, care, and support available to help seniors in Bruce and Grey Counties to lead happy, healthy, active, and independent lives. Each year we build on the successes of the previous years and there’s a lot of new exhibits and displays for 2017.

The special “hands on” room will take place with everything from essential oils to blood pressure checks to reflexology.

There are many new exhibitors taking part this year, along with many who have been a part of the event for ten years.

The focus and the information is directed towards seniors, however all ages are welcome – those accompanying seniors, or browsing for the most up-to-date information available from organizations, government departments, and businesses.

The event has become something many seniors, their families, friends, and caregivers look forward to each year. Doors will open at 9:45 a.m., and 300 flowers, and special Welcome Bags will be handed out throughout the day.

In the past the event was recognized by the Minister for Seniors Affairs, noting this event as something very special for those that attend in Grey and Bruce counties.
