Barrie Man Facing Impaired Driving Charges

On Thursday, February 19, 2015 at approximately 2:42 p.m., Grey County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) stopped a 2006 Honda vehicle at Hwy. 26 and Concession 10 in the Municipality of Meaford after the officer observed the vehicle being driven erratically on Concession 10.

The driver of the Honda was found to have been drinking alcohol.  After failing a roadside breath test, the driver was arrested and taken to the Chatsworth OPP Detachment for further breath tests.

There were two male passengers inside the vehicle at the time.

The 32 year old Barrie man was charged with the criminal offence of driving with more than 80 milligrams of alcohol in his blood.  He was also charged with driving a motor vehicle with liquor readily available under the Liquor Licence Act and being a Class G2 licence holder – with blood alcohol content (BAC) above zero.

He is scheduled to appear in court in Owen Sound on Thursday, March 12, 2015.
